Puerto Penasco is about 4hrs drive south from Phoenix. Certainly my new favorite Mexico. Less Starbucks, more dirt roads. Very inexpensive.

New Years Eve day hike up Camelback.
Old vs New. The Dubai Frame is a cool architectural structure that is 493 ft tall and offers great views of Modern Dubai in one direction, and Older Dubai to the other.
A great spot at Dubai Creek with a gorgeous view of the Dubai skyline with both the Dubai Frame and Burj Khalifa in the distance. In the Dubai Creek area are the famous Gold & Spice Souqs. Markets of various goods, but famous for the Gold & Spices. Fairly chaotic and aggressive. Time for Prayer on one of the quieter side streets of the Souqs.
Cable car trip to the top of Table Mountain. Table Mountain was voted one of the New 7 Wonders of Nature in 2011. It is one of the world's oldest mountains, at least 6 times older than the Himalayas. Beautiful views above Cape Town and the Coast. PANORAMIC VIDEO.
Gorgeous sunset at Hout Bay. HOUT BAY is located about 12 miles south of Cape Town on the west side of Cape Peninsula. The Local Bay Harbour Market was a super fun place. Food, Beers/Cocktails, Arts & Crafts with live music. A beautiful PANORAMIC VIDEO of Sun setting over Hout Bay. Magical watching the sunset in this part of the world.

A 5 hour drive Northwest of Johannesburg, just at the Botswana border to the Madikwe Game Reserve, for a 4 Day Safari. The Madikwe Game Reserve is located in the Northwest Province and is bordered by Botswana to the north and the Dwarsberg Mountains to the south. Incredible experience being out in the bush, surrounded by all that wildlife. Saw Lions, Cheetahs, Giraffe, Baboons, Crocodiles, Rhinos, Elephants, Wilderbeasts, Impala, Zebra, Wart Hog, Hyena and others. Each drive concluded with a happy hour break during sunset. The Lodge had rooms overlooking one of the main watering holes in the reserve, and while spending downtime at the lodge, we would sit out on the patio and just watch various game come in for water. Tried Ostrich and Impala here.
Outlying Johannesburg. Just mostly a stopover blow through continuing northwest towards Botswana. 2 nights in Johannesburg.
