A very modern Downtown Dubai. Located in the eastern part of the Arabian Peninsula on the coast of the Persian Gulf. We visited 6 districts in Dubai; lodging in 3 different districts. Rode out to the Palm Jumeirah - man made - offshore islands which resembles a palm tree in a circle from the air. Beach time in the Persian Gulf. First Class Air Travel on the Emirates Airlines Airbus A-380 and Emirates Boeing 777, [<video promos] traveling RT from the U.S. to Dubai and between Dubai and Johannesburg. Fully recline-able bed in a private pod with privacy doors, mini-bar and 32" tv. Full 'anytime' food and cocktail service, with a stand up tended bar at the back of the plane and first class showers at the front. Caviar, $1,000 bottles of Hennessy and Dom. Pretty cool experience. The total Dubai/South Africa trip logged 8 flights and 30,000 air miles.
We stayed right in the thick of central Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon) District 1; on the SAIGON RIVER. Some highlights included having lunch at BEN THANH MARKET and the BEN THANH STREET FOOD MARKET, which is mostly a tourist spot but still a great place to eat! Took a viewpoint from the Saigon Skydeck and a boat ride up the Saigon River to a floating Buddhist Temple.
Duong Dong was super cool. The largest town on Phu Quoc and full of hustle and bustle. The cool experience here were the markets. The Day and Night Markets were such a fun experience. The DAY MARKET had locals selling Meats, Fish, Seafood, Produce etc.. as well as some other less than desirable BBQ and other squirmy things. The Dinh Cau Night Market is full of street food BBQ and sit down restaurants where you can pick your own meal from the several tanks of Live Fish & Seafood. All kinds of vendors selling all sorts of wares here. We grabbed beers and just strolled through the market.
PHU QUOC ISLAND is located just south of the Cambodian coast, in the GULF OF THAILAND [video]. We stayed on the west side of the island in the LONG BEACH area, just south of Duong Dong town. Traveled by motorbike thru the interior jungle areas, and up into the most Northeast point of the island with a view of the Cambodian Coast. Some good check out down-time here at the BEACH BAR. Phu Quoc will need to figure out their garbage problem. Lots of garbage lying around the island.
A day traveling throughout town on the TOKYO RAIL SYSTEM. AKIHABARA is a total trip. It is sometimes referred to as "Electric City" and rightfully so. Akihabara is very prominent bright neon colors with brightly colored Japenese Anime aesthetic.

Our stay on OKINAWA was on the west side of the island in Onna Village, just northwest of OKINAWA CITY. A nice PANORAMIC VIDEO from the beach. Traveled out to the east side of the island to OKINAWA CITY.
Just a quick check-out to Cabo. Certainly the highlight here was watching the whales breach during breakfast each morning. Pretty damn cool. A nice PANORAMIC VIDEO from the beach.

An incredibly simple trip up to Mt. St. Helens to the JOHNSTON RIDGE OBSERVATORY and a visit to Cold Water Lake. Ridiculously simple. LOOK AT THE MAP! The Johnston Ridge Observatory is located on the North face of the mountain and where you get the best view of the destruction caused by the MAY 18th 1980 VOLCANIC ERUPTION. Check out the current state May 2017 PANORAMIC VIDEO. To see the devastation so up-close is really spectacular. A pretty massive experience. Especially after those childhood memories of watching the eruption footage live on our local news. Really something. Check out the Official MountStHelens.com for all visitor information. We went CATAMARAN SAILING out to DEER ISLAND where we spent the day swimming, eating, drinking and sunning. A meal was hand cooked prepared for the group as well as a heavy flow of beer and cocktails. Spent a few nights CRUSIN' DOWN THE MALECON and enjoying the nightlife in town. Saw baby Stingrays for the first time. That was cool.
